"Singer/Songwriters are a dime a dozen, but Maria Jordan proves that she is THE needle in the haystack. Jordan is a genuine-to-the-core artist with definite star quality. You get real substance here with no filler and the new record will show you why Maria is a mainstay in the music world."- Jimmy Rea-SKOPE MAG
"One to watch"- BBC Introducing
The new Album 'Debris' delves deeper and showcases Jordan's craft for songwriting. 'Debris' covers topics from depression, the pursuit of happiness, complicated love, the silent protests in Iran to the loss of a loved one. The new album also includes a song co- written by her producer John Kettle and Robert Ellis Orrell (Taylor Swift/Reba McEntire) called 'The Forgiving Kind'.
"I think it is important to have something to say as a songwriter and write about real issues, issues that affect people on a daily basis and sometimes topics that people are afraid to talk about. I was listening to everything from Carrie Underwood, Johnny Cash to Neil Young, Chris Stapleton, Springstein and Dylan whilst writing this album and I love the stories that these songs tell. I am a huge fan of melody and love how Country music makes you feel so uplifted. In an age of substanceless celebrity culture I think it is important that songwriters have something to say about the world and the times we live in and I wanted to blend good melody with real issues"
After her collaboration with producer John Kettle (Marble Index/High Holy Days) Maria made strong in roads with her stunning debut album, Landslide.
Her single “Love Of My life” received UK Commercial radio play and saw Maria go from local singer/songwriter to an international touring artist, performing on the same bill as, The Script, Newton Faulkner and James Morrison. All without the backing of a record label.
Her debut album ‘Landslide’ racked up an incredible amount of world-wide radio play reaching thousands of new listeners and building a band of passionate new followers.
Maria released through her own JTC records, in a grassroots attempt to stay true to her values.
“I wanted to make this record, my way, my style and build a following around that”
Maria tour both the US and UK and strong support from BBC Introducing followed including Maria being cited as ‘one to watch’ and performances at many great UK venues including Rock In the Park to 15,000 people, the prestigious London Roundhouse with Paloma Faith, Key103’s Jingle Ball and many more.
Maria headed back into the studio to start work on her singles 'Better Than Nothing' and 'What You Gonna Do' with producer John Kettle, embracing Country, Folk and Blues influences whilst retaining her signature hooky melodies. 'What You Gonna Do' was playlisted on commercial radio and saw Maria tour the UK.

In 2015 Maria headed out to Nashville and SXSW in Austin, Texas to write for her upcoming releases, produced by UK's Scott Ralph (Robbie Williams, Burt Bacharach, Beverly Knight, Alvin Stardust). Whilst in Nashville Maria and partner Dave discovered the wonderful night life of the downtown honkytonks and created their SOLD OUT 'One Night In Nashville' show which has reached over 20,000 tickets in the UK. An album of the show's music which also features Maria's songs will be released in conjunction with Maria's new music.
